Community Engagement Projects

I have found passion for Community Engagement, serving on several community outreach events. Below is a collection of events I have attended and hosted including the Honors Immokalee Immersion Weekend, the PPE Run donation drive, the Campus Cancer Campaign, and the bone marrow registries through Be the Match and Gift of Life.

Honors Immokalee Immersion Trip

I first learned about Community Engagement with my Honors mentor Matt.

In Feb 2019 we served the community by cleaning the Immokalee Friendship House and hosting a blood pressure clinic at Ciclovia. I returned in Feb 2020 and will return again in 2022 to help lead the Immersion Trip.

PPE Run Mask Making Event

Along with other members of Global Medical Brigades, I hosted a mask-making event and collected donations to send to Healthcare Network in Immokalee, FL. We created and collected over 500 masks along with other PPE like hand sanitizer and gloves.

Campus Cancer Campaign

We hosted an educational event on campus to teach student about their risk factors associated with cancer. I led a table teaching students about their risk of alcohol-related cancers.
